Research
I will conduct original user research on behalf of your organisation.

Strategic consulting
I can help you:

  • Analyse the policy implications of user experience issues
  • Educate decision makers, helping them to understand the value of user experience approaches
  • Promote user-centred design approaches within your organisation
  • Training & speaking

I have experience in running seminars and workshops in the field of usability for a wide range of professional audiences. I am a qualified teacher and have taught both professionals and students.

Your organisation can benefit from seminars and workshops on topics such as:

  • What managers need to know about user experience
  • Reducing risk through improving design
  • Studying users – how we can do it and what we can learn
  • Ethnography for design – what it is, how we can do it and what it tells us
  • Promoting usability and user-centred design in your organization
  • Cross-cultural issues in international website design

I am currently leading training seminars in ethnographic approaches to design and evaluation in association with User Focus (central London).

Website, intranet and extranet evaluations
I will assess your site or system from an expert user experience perspective. I will provide a short written report covering what works and what doesn’t, as well as giving recommendations for improving your site’s performance. I will also present findings.

Website content
As a former journalist and editor with extensive experience in the online world – I have both written for the web as a journalist and commissioned newspaper websites – I will advise on content strategy and will also help you locate producers of original content in diverse fields.
